Miffy fans, hop to it: The iconic, cute bunny character with the x-shaped nose is heading to Starbucks in an array of drinkware, gift cards and plush toys. The limited-edition merch collab, the Miffy + Starbucks collection, drops today, May 19, at Starbucks coffee shops across the United States and Canada.

What is the Miffy + Starbucks collection?

The Miffy + Starbucks collection, which is “inspired by the beloved character’s playful charm and simple design,” includes mugs, cold cups, tumblers, gift cards and plush toys. The collection items are designed to evoke Miffy’s “signature simplicity” with “playful, colorful designs” that blend the character’s “recognizable silhouette with seasonal patterns and icons,” Starbucks says.

The collection will feature a palette of pinks, greens (including Starbucks’ signature color) and “bright splashes of poppy red,” according to the brand.

“The design and style of this collection embodies the whimsy that fans are looking for,” Marja Kerkhof, who oversees the Miffy brand worldwide for Mercis bv, says in a press release. “Both Miffy and Starbucks are hoping to be a bright spot in your day. Whether it’s through Miffy’s friendly face and positive personality, or someone’s name on their Starbucks cup, this collaboration is another chance to create connection.”

Who is Miffy?

Miffy, for those who don’t know, started as a children’s picture book character first drawn by Dutch artist Dick Bruna in 1955. In the years since, Bruna’s books have become internationally beloved, released in 50 languages. They've sold more than 90 million copies, and Miffy has become a fashion and design icon since.

“Miffy is multigenerational,” Krystn Fuerst, who led Starbucks’ Miffy collab, says. “People enjoy her retro charm whether they grew up with her or are finding her now.”

Why did Starbucks collaborate with Miffy?

Starbucks says Miffy fans have been asking for the collaboration to be released in the U.S. and Canada following an earlier launch in parts of Asia and Australia.

“We’ve seen some great reaction in other markets and we’re anticipating fans in the U.S. and Canada will love it as well,” Kerkhof says.

What items are in the Miffy + Starbucks collection?

Starbucks wanted to evoke Miffy’s “curiosity and gentle nature” with the collection’s design, Fuerst says. “We wanted her character to come alive through our signature drinkware to bring something new to Miffy fans and Starbucks customers.”

The collection includes:

  • a Starbucks-apron-wearing Miffy plush toy, which comes in a gift box ($34.95).
  • a 14-ounce ceramic mug featuring drawings of Miffy, tulips and coffee cups against a white background, with a Miffy figurine perched above it all on a silicone topper. It also comes in a gift box ($29.95).
  • a 27-ounce water bottle featuring images of Miffy, cups and flowers, on a background of mint green with white stripes ($32.95).
  • a 24-ounce cold cup in a palette of green, white, yellow and pink, featuring Miffy on both the cup itself and on a straw charm ($27.95).
  • a 26-ounce stainless steel cold cup with a “pop art” Miffy design in “shades of honey, jade green and pale pink” ($32.95).
  • an 18-ounce stainless steel tumbler with sketches of Miffy, coffee cups and flowers set against a pale pink base with a bright pink top ($27.95).
  • an array of physical and digital Miffy + Starbucks Gift Cards, with a minimum load of $5.
  • online Starbucks Shop exclusives for Starbucks Rewards Reserve members, including a large Miffy plush ($49.95) and a nylon tote adorned with Starbucks and Miffy icons ($39.95) with a coordinating zippered pouch ($24.95).
