M&M's Is Releasing a Version Made Without Color Additives
So far, they've recreated all but two of the original colors.

I don't know about you, but I've loved M&M's since I was a child. There's something so fun about the vibrant colored candies that just make everyone excited, especially in those holiday cookies. But there's a new version coming: Parent company Mars recently announced it's releasing M&M's later this year made without Food, Drug, & Cosmetic (FD&C) dyes.
Are there M&M's made without dyes?
Unfamiliar with FD&C colors? These are synthetic color additives often added to foods to enhance and provide color to foods, but they've been linked to hyperactivity and neurobehavioral issues in children, so there's been a push to remove or reduce the amounts in foods, especially those marketed towards children.
Later this year, Mars will release M&M's Chocolate made without FD&C colors. This pack will have red, yellow, orange and green candies, as the company has found natural sources like beets and turmeric to replicate those colors.
That said, blue and brown have been more challenging to produce, so they won't be included in the initial launch. That is likely to change in the future when Mars has figured out "fully effective, scalable solutions across the entire portfolio," according to a press release. The company is aiming to have all six colors in the new lineup by 2028.
Where can I buy dye-free M&M's?
The new M&M's will be available for purchase later this year on Amazon. It's worth noting that the existing varieties of M&M's with the original color blends will still stick around in stores and online, so you'll always be able to get your hands on the classic candy.
