Doritos Will Make a Limited-Edition Flavor Inspired by a Wing Shop Favorite
But don't look for it on shelves just yet.
The pairing of lemon and black pepper isn’t necessarily anything new — you’ve probably seen that flavor combo on pasta or chicken wings on menus all over the place. However, you don’t often see lemon pepper in the snack aisle. But starting next year, if you’re just interested in a bit of a bolder take on your usual bag of chips, Doritos may have the just tangy flavor you’ve been craving.
What is the new Doritos Lemon Pepper flavor?
Doritos Lemon Pepper is a new limited-edition flavor that promises “bright citrus and peppery heat.” An announcement from the brand says this new addition is a reaction to the flavor’s increasing popularity nationwide.
“Lemon pepper has become a fan favorite, born out of Atlanta's wing scene and loved for its bold, tangy kick,” Jess Spaulding, senior vice president, marketing, PepsiCo Foods U.S., says in a press release. “We've watched it take off, and it felt like a natural fit for Doritos.”
How do Doritos Lemon Pepper chips taste?
While samples were not yet available at the time of this writing, the description from Doritos says Lemon Pepper “brings together zesty lemon flavor, black pepper seasoning and savory notes for a bold new flavor experience.” Additionally, Doritos claims it “delivers a bold, layered flavor experience that starts with a bright, tangy taste, followed by peppery heat and savory notes,” adding that “the flavor evolves throughout the bite and finishes with a lingering zest.”
When and where will Doritos Lemon Pepper be available?
If your mouth is watering thinking about these savory, tangy chips, unfortunately you’ll have a little waiting to do. Doritos announced the Lemon Pepper flavor earlier this month, however, it will not be available in stores until “early 2027.” And even then, you’ll need to get it while you can, as Doritos Lemon Pepper is slated to be a limited-time offering.
