What Do Lay’s Holiday Flavors Taste Like?
The new limited-edition flavors are inspired by cozy gatherings.
If you love the taste of a holiday turkey dinner but don't want all the hassle, you could head to a restaurant. Or, this year, you could just open up a bag of chips. That’s because Lay’s recreated some classic seasonal dishes as new potato chip flavors. They’re hitting stores ahead of Thanksgiving to wish fans “Happy Holi-Lay’s.”
What are Lay’s holiday flavors for 2026?
While you’ll still have to supply the green beans and stuffing, Lay’s announced two holiday dinner flavors this year, Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes and Roasted Holiday Turkey. (For those with a long memory for snack-based stunts, the latter two may harken back to 2017 when Pringles offered an eight-course Thanksgiving dinner in the form of limited-edition potato crisps.) Additionally, for what you might consider a cozy, cold weather sweet-and-savory combo, the brand also launched a third limited-edition flavor, Maple Bacon — already a popular flavor in Canada and arriving in the U.S. for the first time.
Here are the official descriptions of each flavor as provided by Lay’s:
- Lay’s Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes: All the creamy, cheesy deliciousness inspired by scalloped-style potatoes in a crispy chip made for savoring.
- Lay’s Roasted Holiday Turkey: Roasted turkey flavor and rich gravy taste make every gathering a little more delicious.
- Lay’s Maple Bacon: The perfect balance of sweet maple flavor and smoky bacon taste in every crunchy bite.
But don’t forget dessert. Taking a cue from the popular viral Dubai chocolate trend, Lay’s is also putting out something sweet with new Lay’s Wavy Milk Chocolate and Lay’s Wavy Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate. Both are actual Lay’s Wavy potato chips dipped in a chocolate coating, offering another sweet and salty combination. Here are Lay's descriptions of each limited-time treat:
- Lay's Wavy Milk Chocolate: Taste the Lay's Wavy crunch you love, covered in mouthwatering milk chocolate for a sweet-and-salty treat that's made for holiday gatherings.
- Lay's Wavy Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate and pistachios come together with Lay's signature Wavy crunch for a unique sweet-and-savory snacking experience.
What do Lay’s holiday chips taste like?
I tried the two limited-time holiday flavors hitting stores right now — Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes and Roasted Turkey — and they both deliver on bringing some of those traditional dishes to a bowl of chips.
Roasted Turkey immediately smells like poultry seasoning (in a good way). You can taste the notes of thyme and sage along with an umami meatiness that almost reminded me of snacking on crisp turkey skin.
Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes may not have as far of a walk to convince anyone it works as a snack, considering scalloped potatoes are similar enough to cheese-flavored potato chips, but the addition of some Parmesan, herbs, and spices like black pepper, thyme, parsley and rosemary offers a more savory take than simple sour cream and cheddar that feels much more at home on the holiday table.
When and where are Lay’s holiday chip flavors available?
Lay’s Roasted Turkey and Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes chips are hitting stores right now, in late October 2026, while Maple Bacon will roll out beginning November 8. All three will be available for a limited time only.
Lay’s Wavy Milk Chocolate and Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate, also limited-time products, will begin hitting select stores starting December 1, 2026 and expanding into 2027.
Lay’s is also giving you the opportunity to win chip bowls, charcuterie sets, sweaters, and even a piece of Le Creuset cast iron collaboration cookware. Find more information and enter starting October 26 at www.happyholi-lays.com.
