Popeyes is not shy about getting attention – their spicy chicken sandwich literally caused brawls at restaurant locations a few years ago – and their latest news is sure to heat things up even further.

The chicken chain is teaming up with rapper Megan Thee Stallion to launch a new hot sauce, Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce. And, that hot (er, Hottie!) sauce will have a pretty big job, too because as of October 19, it will be part of a revamp of the famous chicken sandwich as well the chain’s new nuggets.

The partnership also includes the release of a collection of branded merchandise (cheekily called the Thee Heat collection) as well as Popeyes making a large donation to Houston Random Acts of Kindness, which helps support those in need in the Houston area.

“Popeyes one-of-a-kind partnership with Megan Thee Stallion goes well beyond the average marketing collaboration. We are unifying two pop culture icons, and Megan’s innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial vision is at the core of everything we’re doing. For the first time ever, we are changing our famous Chicken Sandwich to add a sauce that was custom-made with and for Megan,” said Sami Siddiqui, President of Popeyes Americas, in a statement to media.

The new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce is said to have a “sweet, yet bold flavor with a hint of spice” which is supposed to be a nod to Megan’s own personality, and includes ingredients like honey, cider vinegar, and Aleppo pepper.

“I’m appreciative of Popeyes commitment to empowering Black women and look forward to opening Popeyes Restaurants,” said Megan Thee Stallion in a statement to media. “Teaming up with Popeyes is such a milestone in my journey and evolution as an entrepreneur. I’ve always been a fan of the Popeyes brand, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the brand and help create the new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce for their line-up.”

As an added incentive (as if we needed any), starting on October 19th, Popeyes Rewards members will earn 100 bonus points when they order any eligible Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce menu items on the app or online, while supplies last.

Something tells us those wild lines for Popeyes chicken sandwiches are about to make their return…
