Attention, cheese lovers. Wegmans Food Markets has issued a recall for Wegmans Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese and several related products due to concerns that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recalled cheese and products that contained it were sold in the cheese department between July 1 and August 12, 2025, at all Wegman stores in the following 10 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The affected products are:

There were no reported illnesses linked to the recall as of the date it was issued, on August 12, according to an announcement posted online by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. However, Listeria monocytogenes may be especially dangerous to pregnant people, resulting in miscarriages and stillbirths. It can also cause serious or even deadly infections in young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms for otherwise healthy people may be short term and include fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Wegmans, which is based in Rochester, New York, was alerted to the potential contamination by Estancia Holdings of Cumming, Georgia. That company initiated the recall after it was notified by its French supplier that three shipments of cheese were potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Anyone who has the products is directed not to eat them and rather to return them to a Wegmans service desk for a full refund. Questions about the recall may be directed to Wegmans Food Markets at 1-855-934-3663, reachable any day between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST.
