Saucony’s New Sneakers Will Have You Running on Avocado Toast
The brand went #millennial for its latest shoe design.
By now, we know you know all about avocado toast. The beloved food of millennials (and Meghan Markle, FYI) has been turned into chocolate bars, marshmallows and DIY kits. And now you can add one more item to the list: sneakers.
Yes, you read that right. Starting Feb. 26, Saucony (y’know, the running brand responsible for those Pumpkin Spice Latte sneakers) will offer avocado toast-inspired running shoes to satisfy all your foodie footwear dreams. Resplendent in shades of green and brown, these shoes are the ideal way to profess your love for the decade’s trendiest meal.
According to the company, the Saucony Originals Shadow 6000 ‘Avocado Toast’ (affectionately known as the "Suacamole") features a buttery green tongue, a pebbled black interior and golden-brown leather accents. For a kick, the lining is flecked with red pepper “flakes” and avocado-shaped logos are embroidered on the tongue. Oh, and if you prefer your footwear on the punny side, you’ll be pleased to find “Suacamole” stamped across the heel.
For a cool $130, you can purchase these too-good-to-eat sneakers from Saucony’s website or select retailers. One word of advice: If you’re really desperate for these snackable shoes, be prepared to act fast — those PSL shoes sold out in about four hours.
But hey — if you can’t grab the shoes, you can use that money to buy 102 avocados. So really, it’s a win-win scenario.
