Win April Fools’ Day with These Deliciously Deceptive Tea Sandwiches
Fool all your friends and family with these not-what-they-seem tea sandwiches.

Nothing makes a better April Fools' prank then presenting your closest friends and family with food that looks like one thing but is really something else entirely. Take for instance the tray of tea sandwiches pictured above. We'll let you in on a little secret — they're not sandwiches at all, nor are they all that savory! They’re actually miniature layer cakes in disguise. Did we fool you?
To create these deliciously deceptive treats all by yourself, use store-bought pound cakes for the bread and sweet spreads for the fillings. See the recipes below for inspiration. And remember on 4/01, you may want to exercise some caution before you take that very first bite!
(Pictured from far left) “Cucumber”
Mix room-temperature cream cheese with finely chopped fresh mint. Sandwich between squares of angel food cake with thinly sliced green apple.
“Smoked Salmon"
Sandwich cream cheese frosting and thinly sliced fresh papaya between slices of chocolate pound cake; cut into rectangles.
“Egg Salad"
Mix French vanilla pudding with mini marshmallows, diced pineapple, shredded coconut and finely chopped green apple licorice. Sandwich between triangles of vanilla pound cake.
