Ranch is a year-round favorite, but every once in a while it’s great to mix it up with seasonal ingredients. The peppery, slightly garlicky nature of ramps lends itself perfectly to the herbaceous profile that gives ranch its signature taste. You could say that they “ramp up” the flavor.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine the yogurt, ramps, buttermilk, mayonnaise, dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, hot sauce, half of the lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt and several grinds of pepper in a medium bowl and whisk well to combine. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more lemon juice and salt, if needed.
  2. Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Cook’s Note

If you’d like your ranch to be more creamy and less tangy, use 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1/2 cup yogurt.
