Holiday wishes do come true! Four Chopped Grand Champions are headed home to the Chopped kitchen for the holidays, but they will be challenged with some extremely tough baskets. The chefs must figure out how to use a kooky candy cane in their appetizers. A meat in the entrée basket is bound to be met with some trepidation. Then, ingenuity, speed and skill are on display in a captivating dessert round that includes pomegranate. Every course will be extra special, since the competitors are all amazingly talented winners with nothing left to prove but plenty left to give.
Four chefs who are right at home on the range keep it real and rustic while making food with western flair and flavor. In the appetizer round, one chef's race to get her fritters cooked in time has the judges on the edge of their seats. The competitors open up their entrée baskets to find a beautiful cut of meat that seems like a rancher's dream, but with no time for "low and slow" cooking, there might be trouble. Then, mishaps by both chefs in the dessert round keep everyone guessing who will ride off into the sunset with the $10,000 prize.
Gotta fry! The chefs learn that in every round they must use the deep fryer or air fryer to make crispy, creative cuisine. First round jitters affect the chefs as they rush to fry up appetizers, and as the final seconds tick away, it's unclear whether everyone will remember to plate every basket ingredient. Then in the entrée round, a prized meat and a milk substitute are two of the mandatory items the competitors must incorporate into their dishes. The final basket holds some fun ingredients that inspire the last two competitors to create whimsical desserts.
Rahm Fama finds the best meat after midnight to satisfy his late-night carnivorous cravings. In New York, he eats the goat Billy Balls at The Meatball Shop which has locals lining up until 4am for their succulent round morsels. On the opposite coast, Rahm visits the Pacific Dining Car in Los Angeles for a Maine Lobster Appletini appetizer and a Cowboy Steak with creamed spinach served 24-hours a day. His last stop at the Gilt Club in Portland, Ore., a swanky late-night supper spot, dishes up its house made pork rinds and Quail in a Jar late into the night.
