The Kitchen is tailgating bright and early with a breakfast of champions! Sunny Anderson kicks things off with her Breakin' the Fast Burger and Katie Lee brings her breakfast MVP, a Slow Cooker Hash Brown Casserole. Jeff Mauro turns up the heat with his Crispy Buttermilk Popcorn Chicken and Waffle Bowl, then former pro football player Nick Mangold makes his touchdown dish, Ultimate Tailgate Steak and Egg Tacos. The hosts build some fully loaded Walking Cereal Bowls. Plus, we gear up for the game with a Double Duty Dessert Display and a game-changing Pull-Apart Cinnamon Roll Football.
The gang takes a tropical trip, and Katie Lee begins with her Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pulled Pork. Jeff Mauro serves up a crispy Hash Brown Crusted Halibut, and Chef Tino Feliciano stops by with a Puerto Rican-style Chicken Sofrito with Pomegranate and Cilantro Chimichurri. The hosts share a Flavor Guide to Citrus with recipes for Geoffrey Zakarian's Citrus Avocado Salad and Sunny Anderson's Grapefruit Coconut Cooler. Then they put a tropical twist on favorite foods with Jeff's Pineapple Upside-Down Pancakes and Sunny's Guava Grilled Cheese. Plus the gang shares outdoor grilling tips along with Geoffrey's Tropical Heat Wave Punch.
Jeff's first kitchen inspiration came at the knee of his father, Gus, proving once and for all that Sandwich Kings aren't made, they're born. So Jeff goes back home to take part in a spring tradition in the Mauro family, a raucous improvised dinner using Easter leftovers. Inspired by the season and a bracing jolt of family, Jeff heads home to do it all over again, on bread. Baked ham takes a bow on sweet potato biscuits and "a little of this and a little of that" adds up to an eggy kitchen-sink frittata sandwich, paired with spicy hash browns. Leftovers never had it so good.
Noah Cappe heads to the Washington State Spring Fair in Puyallup for the Wake n' Bacon Fry Pie -- a breakfast bonanza of eggs, bacon and hash browns rolled into a hand pie -- and the Hapa Dog -- a Hawaiian-inspired Portuguese sausage topped with creamy coleslaw and furikake. In the cornhusker state of Nebraska, the Taste of Omaha makes good on the maize with The Firecracker -- a deep-fried corn on the cob rolled in hot cheese puffs and spicy blue tortilla chips. The heat gets turned up for the Fiery Frank Roll -- an egg-rolled sausage covered in queso and jalapenos -- and The Snoop -- a chicken and waffle-stuffed wrap with jalapeno-bacon jam and maple syrup. Then, it's off to Arizona for the Pima County Fair, where a savory cake surprises with layers of rice, seaweed, pineapple and canned meat, and a divisive dessert known as The Pickle Split tickles every taste bud with its giant dill pickle wrapped in fruit leather and topped with pineapple soft serve and tamarind candy string.
