This crumble is the perfect dessert for a crowd or for individual servings. I like mixed berries, but whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have will work. You should make some extra crumble because if you’re like me, I always find there is never enough. Do not forget the ice cream!

Who said veggies had to be boring? I take a mixture of carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli and kick it up a notch in flavor by adding some caramelized onions. It's a simple side dish that the whole family will enjoy.

What the heck is a middlin? Middlins are the broken pieces of rice, also known as rice grits, and they're a delicious ingredient, perfect for making risotto. You can order them online if you can't find them in stores, or substitute short-grain rice, like arborio.

Do you remember that caramel corn mixed with peanuts that would come in a small cardboard box and have a toy hidden inside? Well, this is my version, with a Gullah spin. I add a mixture of nuts and sesame seeds (known as benne seeds in Gullah and Low Country cooking) to the buttery, sweet caramel corn.

Whenever I have a fish fry, I have to have hushpuppies on the side. These are served with honey butter, but they are also great with tartar sauce. If you're a purist, I've included a plain version in addition to a fun Low Country twist with fresh okra in the batter.

Traditional Cuban sandwiches are made with slow-cooked mojo-seasoned pork shoulder. I absolutely love them, but wanted to speed things up a bit. So, I swapped out pork tenderloin for the pork shoulder but still seasoned it with a mojo-inspired marinade. The result is fantastic, and I know your partygoers will love these sandwiches just as much as I do.

You may not know this about me, but I'm not one to gravitate towards doughnuts if there are other sweet treats available. That was, until I made these mini doughnuts. They are sooo good—salty and sweet at the same time, which is my favorite flavor combo of all.

These little fruit tarts look like they're right out of a pastry shop. Frozen tart shells help speed up the process of making them. I like to use berries to top my tarts, but feel free to use whatever fruit you like.
