Crumbly, shiny almond cookies were a treat that I would get at Chinese restaurants growing up. Usually they were instead of, or in addition to, the classic fortune cookies, and they made that meal extra special. This version has sprinkles because it’s the New Year; they’re kind of like fireworks. And they are ever so slightly softer and chewier in the center than the crumbly ones I grew up with.

Growing up, taco night for Molly meant a box mix with hard corn shells, a taco seasoning packet and her mother’s signature meat of choice: ground turkey! This is her homemade version of that, but instead of hard-shell tacos, she’s upping the ante with pan-fried, chewy flour ones. It’s the taco night of her nostalgic dreams…mmm.

These are inspired by fried mozzarella sticks, briny Greek salad and falafel pitas. The only thing better than fried cheese on a salad…is stuffing that salad in a fluffy pita. The result is a party of textures, flavors and colors in one delicious handheld bite.

Niçoise salads are one of Molly’s faves since they’re like little buffets on the table. This one is similar to the traditional French salad with big leafy greens, a tangy dressing, and piles of vibrant essentials like squishy hard-boiled eggs, creamy fingerling potatoes, and crisp tender veggies. However, this version tosses out the tuna for one of Molly’s salty fatty faves: salami!

When Molly first learned about these Chinese treats in high school, she was instantly hooked. She describes them as skinny little donuts that are held together with sugar syrup and compressed into bar form…kind of like an airier, less sweet crispy rice treat that you can eat a ton of since they’re addictively good. This is her honey version.
