Here’s how educators can snag a sweet breakfast — plus, how students can make their teachers’ lives even sweeter.

Teachers always deserve our appreciation, and this school year, with its particular challenges, they do more than ever. So how to show it? There’s always the shiny apple — a classic. But this year there’s an even sweeter way to convey your gratitude: A dozen education-themed doughnuts.
During what the company’s calling “Educator Appreciation Week,” August 10 through 14, Krispy Kreme is offering teachers who show a school employer ID a free Original Glazed doughnut and a regular sized drip coffee at participating locations. (Nope — no purchase necessary.)
But the highlight of the week comes on Tuesday, August 11, a.k.a. “Straight A Tuesday,” when the doughnut chain will give a free, limited-time “Straight A Dozen” with the purchase of any dozen ordered for pickup, drive-thru or delivery at participating locations as a way of helping us honor and celebrate the educators — teachers, administrators, tutors, coaches, mentors of all stripes — in our lives by passing them along as a gift.
And the “Straight A Dozen” does make a pretty cute gift: It features nine Original Glazed doughnuts flanking three “Straight A” chocolate-iced, cream-filled doughnuts, topped with sprinkles and decorated with “A+.”
“Education is going to be very different this school year and more challenging and important than ever,” Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a news release. “From teachers and tutors to parents and coaches we want to thank everyone who is helping our kids to keep learning in these tough times no matter where the ‘classroom’ is.”
Sweet, right? And the icing on top for educational organizations in need of funding: Krispy Kreme has launched a new contactless “Digital Dozen” fundraising program to help schools and community organizations raise money via e-certificates that can be virtually sold and redeemed for a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts.
