We’ve always had a quite complicated relationship with bees. No one wants to be stung or get too close to that buzzing, but there’s no doubt we love the honey they make possible. We’re grateful to bees every time we enjoy honey in our tea or a spicy honey drizzle on our pizza. But now, we have a whole new reason to celebrate bees – and honey!

Krispy Kreme has launched a new Oh, Honey collection, which is the chain’s first foray into honey-flavored doughnuts. The Honey Lover’s Dozen is sweet to bees in all sorts of ways; it even comes in bee-friendly wildflower seed paper that can be planted, creating food for bees.

The collection, created in honor of World Bee Day, which is May 20, is now available and will be for a limited time. It includes three new honey-flavored doughnuts:

Honey Pull Apart Doughnut: This doughnut has a classic feel. It’s light and airy and comes in clusters that are glazed and drizzled with salted honey icing.

Honey Bee Doughnut: This Original Glazed doughnut is dipped in yellow icing, before being topped with black buttercream icing and two mini cookie ‘wings.’ The result is adorably honeybee-like!

Honey Cake Doughnut: Who doesn’t love honey cake? This doughnut is a glazed sour cream cake doughnut that is then drizzled with honey icing and an oat crisp topping.

“Our innovation team has been hard at work to create our first-ever honey doughnut collection. And so have honeybees!” said Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena in a statement. “So, help the honeybees by planting the flower seeds that we give you when you buy these delicious doughnuts.”

Want to check out all this buzz for yourself? The Honey Bee and Honey Cake doughnuts can be added to any dozen or bought as part of the Honey Lover’s Dozen, and the Honey Pull Apart Doughnut is available individually or in a 4-doughnut package.
