Stay in and relax this weekend with your favorite chefs and their all-new eats. Saturday morning, don’t miss a new episode of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen with special guest Reba McEntire. She and Trisha are taking a tour of Trisha’s new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and then cooking up classics like Turkey Meatloaf with BBQ Glaze and lemon pound cake with royal glaze. Then, the co-hosts of The Kitchen are hosting an award-season celebration with perfect party dishes like surf and turf crostini, Popcorn-Coated Popcorn Chicken and Strawberry Chocolate Mini Trifles.
On Sunday morning, Bobby Flay is showcasing the savory side of brunch by reimagining sweet dishes. His twists include French toast stuffed with Gruyère, ham and cheese scones, and a savory yogurt bowl. And on Sunday night, chefs play the slots to determine their trio of ingredients during a new Guy’s Grocery Games. After that, the home cooks tag-team dishes for guest mentors Debi Mazar and Aarón Sánchez on All-Star Academy, and Alton’s got a new slate of sabotages on Cutthroat Kitchen.
Trisha gives singer Reba McEntire a tour of her exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and after, they whip up a down-home dinner of bacon-wrapped Turkey Meatloaf; Brussels Sprouts with Dried Cranberries and Almonds; Sweet Potato, Apple and Leek Casserole; and Kyle's Lemon Pound Cake with Reba's Royal Glaze, inspired by Reba's favorite cocktail.
To celebrate award season, Chef Wolfgang Puck shares the most-popular after-party dish and Jeff Mauro makes a showstopping Surf and Turf Rib-Eye Crostini with Gorgonzola Mousse. Katie Lee makes award-winning Strawberry Chocolate Mini Trifles, then Geoffrey Zakarian's wife makes a party-perfect cocktail. Finally, the winners of this year's Golden Spatula Awards are announced!
Bobby is whipping up a crowd-pleasing brunch of classically sweet dishes reimagined with savory flavors, like Stuffed French Toast with Gruyère, Mustard Greens and Double-Smoked Bacon, Ham and Cheese Scones with Roasted Tomatoes, and a Yogurt Bowl with Savory Toppings like beets, cucumbers and chickpeas. To drink, he's reinvented another brunch classic with his Verde Mary.
Chefs try to beat the house, and the market, when they face three exciting games of chance. First, chefs roll dice to determine the details of a poker-night plate. Next, they play a wild card game to determine the special ingredients in a wholesome weeknight dinner starring a red-light special. Finally, the chefs play the slots see what jackpot trio of ingredients will go into their winner's dinner.
The home cooks enter to meet their new guest professors, Debi Mazar and Aarón Sánchez. The subject is geography, and for their group test, they must compete in a tag-team challenge cooking dishes that combine the styles of where they are from. The two teams with the least successful dishes then compete in an elimination test using ingredients from the most-popular cuisines in the world: Thai, Italian and Mexican.
While making cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, two chefs have to get their ingredients from trays of passed appetizers. Then, one chef has to make cashew chicken on a horseshoe. Finally, one chef has to shoot the ingredients for a tres leches cake through a basketball hoop.
