Vivien Cunha

Where are you living and working now?

I’m living in Los Angeles and working as a private chef for a Hollywood producer and as a food writer for various magazines, such as Malibu Times, Whole Life, Valley Life, Brazil Explore, Malibu Chronicle, etc.

What have you been up to since FNS?

Since the show, I have been cooking and writing. And yes, I got married to the love of my life last year, a beautiful man inside and out.

What was your favorite thing about being on FNS? And your least favorite?

My favorite thing about the show was meeting new people and spending some time in New York. Most importantly, I learned that in life you can’t be too nice all the time. My least favorite thing was to not to stand for what I wanted or believed.

Do you keep in touch with other finalists?

I do not keep in touch so much with the other contestants — it's hard because life is so busy, but sometimes I do see Nikki around. We live in the same area.

What was the funniest/coolest/weirdest (or worst!) incident to happen behind the scenes?

The worst thing that happened to me on the show was not to be last in being picked for the group task to cater the wedding. Watching more television, I see now that the one that is a threat is the first they all want to go.

What advice would you offer the next round of finalists?

My advice to the new contestants is not to try to make friends. Be sociable and friendly, but remember everyone is there to win.

When you look back, what would you have done differently?

I would certainly change what I did because there is always room for improvement. I would have been more aggressive in showing my potential from the beginning. You've got to show them fast that you are the best there.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your time on FNS?

Overall, I'm very thankful and grateful for the experience. But next time I get such an opportunity, I will be more aggressive in showing my talent.

Do people recognize you from being on the show?

In the first year I was recognized a lot, but not anymore.
