Fuss-Free Pumpkins

We're showing you carve-free ways to decorate your pumpkins for the fall!
Episode: Autumn Eats

Mummified Pumpkin:

On the back of a pumpkin, attach a strand of medical gauze using a hot glue gun. Wrap the gauze to cover the pumpkin, but leave some orange showing a few inches below the stem. Attach googly eyes where the orange shows using the hot glue gun.

What you'll need:

  • 1 pumpkin
  • Medical gauze
  • Hot glue gun
  • 2 googly eyes

Owl Pumpkin:

Using 2 toothpicks, attach 2 jalapeno peppers to the top of a large pumpkin for the ears. For the eyes, attach 2 mini pumpkins to the front of the large pumpkin using wooden skewers. Then, use a toothpick to attach a chile pepper beak right under the eyes. Use wooden skewers to attach halved pineapple tops, halved artichokes or lettuce leaves to the sides of the pumpkins for the arms. Last, attach 2 ginger knobs to the bottom of the pumpkin using 2 more toothpicks. These will act as the feet.

What you'll need:

  • 1 large pumpkin
  • 5 toothpicks
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 2 mini pumpkins
  • 4 wooden skewers
  • 1 chile pepper
  • Halved pineapple tops, halved artichokes or 2 lettuce leaves
  • 2 knobs fresh ginger

Stocking Pumpkin:

Cut off the foot of a black textured stocking and place the pumpkin in the stocking so that the opening aligns with the stem. Tie a knot on the top of the stocking if needed. Wrap a ribbon around the stem to keep the stocking in place.

What you'll need:

  • Black textured stocking
  • Fabric scissors
  • 1 pumpkin
  • Black ribbon

Donut Pumpkin:

Paint the tops of mini pumpkins with pink or brown paint, leaving a circle around the stem. Once the paint is dry, use paint pens to apply small dashes for sprinkles.

What you'll need:

  • Mini pumpkins
  • Pink or brown paint
  • Paint brush
  • Paint pens
