If You Were Planning To Eat Poke From Costco This Week, You Need To Double Check Your Fridge
The store is recalling a Kirkland ready-to-eat dish across 33 states.

Attention, Costco members. More than 3,000 pounds of Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke sold under the Kirkland Signature brand label are being recalled because the green onions used in them may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

What is being recalled?
On Saturday, September 20, Western United Fish Company, which does business as Annasea Foods Group, of Kent, Washington, announced it was recalling 3,314.7 pounds of Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke. The recalled product — Costco Item Number of 17193 — was sold in clear plastic clamshell containers carrying Kirkland Signature brand labels and marked with a Pack Date of 9/18/2025 and Sell-By Date of 9/22/2025.

Why is it being recalled?
The recall was initiated after Western United Fish Company was notified by its green onion supplier that the green onions used in the Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke on September 17, 2025, had tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. An investigation into the cause of the contamination is underway.
What are the risks of Listeria monocytogenes?
This food-borne organism causes high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in otherwise healthy people, but these symptoms generally resolve within a short period of time. However, the bacterium can cause serious or even fatal infections in the very young, the very old and those with weakened immune systems. It can also be dangerous for pregnant people, potentially leading to serious pregnancy complications.
Where and when was the product sold?
The recalled Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke was sold on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the deli section from Costco Warehouse stores in 33 states across the United States: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
Have people gotten sick from eating the recalled Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke?
As of September 20, when the recall was announced, there had been no reported illnesses.

You are advised not to eat the recalled product, to throw it away and to visit a nearby Costco to receive a full refund.
