Funfetti Is Getting in on the Dot Cake Trend
The rainbow-dot vanilla frosting aims to add ‘crunch, texture and visual excitement’ to your baked goods.
Dashes have their place — but sometimes the situation calls for dots … As the recent viral dot-cake trend has made clear, this is apparently as true of baked goods and frosting as of punctuation.
And so, for those moments when only lots of dots (not dashes) of myriad colors will do, Pillsbury is introducing Funfetti Dots of Fun Vanilla Frosting — vanilla frosting replete with a rainbow of dot-shaped sprinkles, an innovation the brand says is the first of its kind.
"For years Funfetti has brought a unique decorating moment to baking through a variety of colorful sprinkle shapes and designs," Dan Anglemyer, chief operating and chief marketing officer at parent company Hometown Food Company, says in a statement. "With Funfetti Dots of Fun Vanilla Frosting, we are bringing the latest trends in baking and decorating to the forefront of the category."
What is Funfetti Dots of Fun Vanilla Frosting?
It’s “smooth” and “creamy” vanilla-flavored frosting packed with dot sprinkles in a broad spectrum of cheerful colors, resulting in a celebratory and “playful” look and providing “crunch, texture and visual excitement” to “every bite” of baked items including cakes, cupcakes, cookies and brownies.
“Designed for consumers seeking creative, highly shareable desserts without extra effort,” Funfetti Dots of Fun Vanilla Frosting is a “convenient ready-to-spread frosting” that “makes it easy to instantly elevate any treat” and turn it into a moment of “unforgettable celebration,” the brand says.
Funfetti Dots of Fun Vanilla Frosting aims to bring a “burst of color and fun” to occasions such as birthday parties and other celebrations or “simply making an ordinary day feel special.”
Where can you get Funfetti Dots of Fun Vanilla Frosting?
The festive new frosting will be available in 15.6-ounce tubs at “select online and retail accounts.” When? For now, the brand says only that it is “coming soon.”
