Here’s a collab we should probably all have had our eyes wide open for: Dunkin’ and Sabrina Carpenter. The coffee and doughnut chain has partnered with the singer of the hit pop song “Espresso” to introduce a new caffeinated iced beverage: Sabrina’s Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso.
The drink, which hit the chain nationwide on New Year’s Eve and will remain available for a limited time, features Dunkin’s espresso along with “notes” of brown sugar and oat milk — all then shaken in a “dedicated espresso shaker” to create what the brand boasts is a “deliciously frothy, subtly sweet sip.”
Carpenter will promote the new beverage in a cheeky new Dunkin’ ad campaign, Shake That Ess’, created with Ben Affleck’s and Matt Damon’s production company, Artists Equity, and featuring Carpenter’s song “Espresso.” Jill McVicar Nelson, Dunkin’s chief marketing officer, says the campaign aims to show customers that “their new drink order can be both delicious and a wink at embracing life’s lighter side.”
“When we first dreamed up Sabrina’s Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso at Dunkin’, it had to be more than another delicious drink on the menu — we wanted to bring some levity to guests’ everyday coffee order,” Nelson says in a statement. “Working with one of America’s most beloved pop stars, Sabrina Carpenter, adds a spirited, fresh energy that perfectly aligns with Dunkin’s love of bold taste and good-natured fun.”
The Carpenter collab hits Dunkin’ along with the rest of Dunkin’s winter menu. Kicking off the new year, it features a new $5 Meal Deal that includes two Wake-Up Wrap sandwiches (egg, cheese and a choice of bacon, sausage, turkey sausage or no meat) and a medium (14-ounce) hot coffee or 24-ounce iced coffee.
Dunkin’ is also introducing three new drinks and treats for the season – Lava Cake Signature Latte (“bold espresso with notes of chocolate lava cake and whole milk, topped with whipped cream, a mocha drizzle, and a generous dusting of hot chocolate powder,” available hot or iced); Lava Cake Coffee; and Chocolate Whoopie Pie Specialty Donut (“glazed chocolate cake donut halved and filled with whipped vanilla-flavored icing”) – and bringing back its popular Iced Lemon Loaf.
The winter days may be short, but Dunkin’ seems to be doing its best to make them sweet as well.
