Is it really fall unless pumpkin spice season has begun? The two have been synonymous for years now. But these days, pumpkin spice season has been starting earlier and earlier. So does that mean fall now begins in August? It’s beginning to look that way.
Pumpkin spice season is here, and it’s not even Labor Day yet. But it’s not just pumpkin spice. Beginning Tuesday, August 26, Starbucks is rolling out its entire fall menu, and that means a lot of returning favorites (including a certain legendary PSL) plus some new items to get excited about.
On the pumpkin front, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is back, just as we’ve all known and love it. Joining it will be the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai.

But, strange as it is to believe, not everyone is obsessed with pumpkin, so a new addition to the lineup this year – especially for those of us who prefer plant-based beverages – is the new Pecan Oatmilk Cortado. It’s made with three shots of Starbucks Blonde Espresso with notes of pecan, brown butter, holiday baking spices and steamed oatmilk, then garnished with pecan crunch topping.
“The saltiness and browned butter notes combined with the toasted pecan flavors are the perfect complement to the Cortado’s bold espresso base,” says Patrick Penny, lead beverage developer for Starbucks, in a statement. “When paired with creamy oatmilk, the pecan balances the vibrant, rich flavor notes of Starbucks Blonde Espresso.”
Also on the pecan front, the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte will be returning, along with (since it is still August, after all) an iced version that has a layer of vanilla sweet cream cold foam. Additionally, Pecan Cold Foam is available to be added to any beverage.

New fall food items include Italian Sausage Egg Bites made with crumbled Italian sausage, sundried tomato pesto, basil and Monterey jack cheese. Like other egg bites, these are made using cage-free eggs in a sous vide method. Seasonal returns include the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and Raccoon Cake Pop.
Those who happen to live near Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in Chicago, New York City and Seattle will get some seasonal specialties of their own – a Tiramisu Latte, Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel-Aged Manhattan and Pumpkin S’mores Tart, as well as the return of Starbucks Reserve Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew.
While it may feel like PSL season is starting sooner each year, it’s actually not the earliest Starbucks has dropped its fall favorites. In 2024, they were rolled out nearly a week earlier, on August 22.
