2 tablespoons hot water

1 tablespoon brown sugar 

1 shot Irish whiskey 

2 to 2 1/2 shots hot espresso

Lemon-Vanilla Whipped Cream, recipe follows

Lemon-Vanilla Whipped Cream:

1 1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled

2 tablespoons sugar 

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest


  1. Combine the hot water and brown sugar in a mug. Stir together until the brown sugar is melted. Stir in the whiskey and espresso. Top with several dollops of the whipped cream. Serve immediately with a spoon.

Lemon-Vanilla Whipped Cream:

  1. Add the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla and lemon zest to a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Whip just until soft peaks form.
