Pucker up, people. Sonic is determined to push you out of your slushie comfort zone.

Sonic Drive-In has announced a new drink that may have you wondering if April Fool’s Day has come early: Pickle Juice Slushes. And yes, sourpuss, they are for real.
The retro-ish fast food chain has announced that it will be releasing a bright green, icy frozen drink that tastes like pickles this summer, with a target launch date of early June. The sweet-and-sour slush will be available at 3,500 Sonic locales across the U.S.
Perhaps you, like us, are wondering, why anyone thought this would be a good idea?
"Quite simply, pickle juice is fun," Scott Uehlein, Sonic's vice president of product innovation and development, told FN Dish in an emailed statement. "Nothing says summer like a Sonic slush."
Whether or not you think the drink sounds dill-icious probably depends on your stance on pickles, but this whole pickle beverage thing seems to be a legit trend. The picklishly inclined can now enjoy (if that is the right word) Pickle Juice Soda and pickle-flavored beer, not to mention pickle popsicles and pickle-flavored potato chips.
Someone has even seen fit to make pickle-flavored breath mints. ("Easier than carrying a pickle in your pocket," they promise.) Certainly pickle fans will breathe easier knowing those exist. Those around them, perhaps, not so much.
