Häagen-Dazs Turned This Viral Flavor Into the Perfect Little Treat
Costco shoppers will have the first chance to try these decadent mini bars.

It’s hard to believe it’s been well over a year since Dubai chocolate went viral, but, to paraphrase the old adage, time flies while you’re having dessert. What started as a single shop’s chocolate-coated, bar-shaped take on knafeh — a Middle Eastern treat which combines crispy kataifi (shredded phyllo) with gooey cheese, sugar syrup and, often, pistachios — quickly became a worldwide phenomenon spurring a bunch of copycats and chain restaurant adaptations from Starbucks to Crumbl to IHOP.
Now it seems the flavor is so enduringly popular that you can soon find it among the towering, pallet-stacked aisles of the ultimate indicator of Americans' appetites: Costco.
What are Häagen-Dazs Dubai Style Chocolate Mini Bars?
Starting the week of April 27, Häagen-Dazs Dubai Style Chocolate Mini Bars will hit the freezer sections of Costco locations nationwide in boxes of 20 individually-wrapped ice cream treats.
Like some of the other adaptations and iterations from other brands, Häagen-Dazs’ take starts with a base of pistachio ice cream, which is enrobed in both milk chocolate and crispy pieces of kataifi. And while we’ve already seen Dubai-style chocolate and pistachio popping up everywhere, Häagen-Dazs told us that these things take time — and that the wait is worth it.
“At Häagen-Dazs, we’re always inspired by the idea that indulgence should never be rushed,” Rachel Jaiven, Head of Häagen-Dazs Marketing, said. “We wanted to bring consumers a globally inspired experience that invites them to slow down, take their sweet time, and savor every bite, from the creamy pistachio ice cream to the crisp texture of golden kataifi wrapped in rich milk chocolate.”
Will Häagen-Dazs Dubai Style Chocolate Mini Bars only be available at Costco?
If you don’t have a Costco membership or a Costco warehouse near you, unfortunately you won't see these Häagen-Dasz Minis at other stores. And Costco clarified that if you live in Texas or the Southeast regions, you might get them a bit later than other parts of the country. Until then, we recommend some Dubai chocolate pudding or lasagna (you read that right) to tide you over.
