Southern Brunch

Host Octavia Spencer and head judge Edgar "Dook" Chase welcome three teams of Southern home cooks to the kitchen for a down-home showdown. In the first round, aunt and niece Bert and Kelsey, mother-in-law and son-in-law Wanda and Dillon, and wives Kim and Allison serve up their best Southern brunch. In the second round, the final two teams put their own spin on one of guest judge Reese Witherspoon's childhood favorites. Ultimately, only one team has what it takes to impress the judges and take home the $10,000 prize.

A beautiful ode to bacon is one of the ingredients in the appetizer basket designed by Chris himself. A soup and a boozy trend are two of the items the chefs must include in their entrées. Finally, the dessert basket contains something super spicy and something very sweet.

Fiesta Mexicana

It's a Mexican fiesta in the Chopped kitchen as every basket features foods from our neighbor to the south, and the chefs will be encouraged to dial up the flavor to make extra scrumptious dishes. In the first round, the chefs struggle under the time pressure and hope that their appetizers don't fall flat when it comes to technique. In the second round, the chefs must combine a weird ice cream and a classic Mexican sauce. Then in a neck-and-neck final round, the chefs get creative with some unusual potato chips and a distinctively flavored leafy green.

The two finalists must prepare a family meal that includes three strange ingredients from the Fieri Food Pyramid. The winning judge learns how challenging the Shopping Spree really is as they race to earn money for their charity of choice.

Fight for Finale

To start off the final week in boot camp, the remaining recruits compete in a relay race that tests their speed, knowledge and skill in the kitchen. Then chefs Anne Burrell and Carla Hall teach their final two recruits how to make a three-course, restaurant-quality meal. For the last challenge, the two finalists put all their newly learned culinary skills to the test in order to impress a panel of culinary experts. Judges Adrienne Cheatham, JJ Johnson and George Mendes sample the recruits' dishes in a blind taste test and choose the winner of the $25,000 prize.
