It’s only March, but 2022 is already shaping up to be a big year for fresh-thrill-seeking Mountain Dew fans. (Hard MTN DEW Baja Blast has just rolled out.) The latest innovation from the beloved beverage brand? A new flavor they’re calling MTN DEW Legend.

Incorporating the tastes of blackberry, citrus and ginger into the original flavor of MTN DEW, the new drink makes its debut March 3. But before you race out the door in search of it, take note: The new beverage is currently available at one restaurant chain only — Buffalo Wild Wings — and for now only in select locations, ahead of a nationwide rollout to all 1,200-plus of the chain’s sports bars by mid-May.

Billed as “bold,” “refreshing” and “curated for those who embrace the fun and freedom in life,” MTN DEW Legend has been created specifically to enhance Buffalo Wild Wings bar-food menu — its sauces, burgers and wings. (Kind of like how Baja Blast was developed for Taco Bell.)

The new fountain flavor is “inspired by the blackberry flavor craze,” according to the sports-bar chain. It’s also the first exclusive beverage PepsiCo has created for Buffalo Wild Wings. But it is not the first time the two brands have collaborated. They previously partnered on Buffalo Wild Wings’ Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Flavored Sauce.

Rita Patel, chief marketing officer at Buffalo Wild Wings, said in a statement that the chain is “thrilled” to continue the collaboration.

“MTN DEW Legend is a unique drink that we’re proud to serve exclusively at our sports bars,” Patel said.

Scott Finlow, chief marketing officer at PepsiCo Global Foodservice, expressed similar enthusiasm.

“Buffalo Wild Wings and MTN DEW both know a thing or two about passionate fan bases and how to take celebrations to the next level with great-tasting food and beverages,” Finlow said. “Together, our goal is to elevate the sports viewing and dining experience, with MTN DEW Legend serving as the ultimate wingman.”

Ah, we see what he did there.
