Celebrating the trendy tradition of hosting a Friendsgiving meal, four teams of best buddies compete to make a Thanksgiving feast. Cooperation will be key as good pals set out to show that their bonds can withstand the pressure that comes from one of the toughest cooking competitions around. Mayhem ensues with eight chefs in the kitchen in the first round, as everyone tries to make the most of an iffy canned product. A thematically appropriate and totally weird hot dog is part of the entrée round puzzle, and a pumpkin pie-flavored drink in the dessert basket is a sweet surprise for the two remaining teams of friends.
Whether they're long links, plump patties or spicy little slices, everyone loves sausage and we're sampling the best the US has to offer! We're starting by checking out a chorizo burger in Jacksonville, Florida, and getting down on a sausage sampler at a pork haven in Portland, Maine. Next, we get a little New Orleans flavor with a Los Angeles restaurants' Cajun sausage po' boy before trying a wood-fired Venison Hot Dog in Austin, Texas. There's comfort food classics in Tacoma, Washington, a surf-and-turf sausage entree in Nashville and some meaty pizzas in Dallas. Finally, we're pairing sausage with beer at a unique eatery in Baltimore.
There's one thing all sandwiches have in common: bread. Whether white or wheat, roll or hero - good bread is essential for a good sandwich. So Jeff pays a visit to his Aunt Rita and Uncle Joel, who happen to run a deli & bakery, to get some ideas for dressing up the outside of the sandwich. After a little time at the kneading board, The Sandwich King heads back home to get yeasty with it, baking focaccia for a Mediterranean-inspired grilled chicken sandwich and some pretzel bread to elevate a humble hot dog. A show so delicious, you'll want to eat it fresh out of the oven.
