Taco Bell is adding a twist to two of its fan-favorite menu items. Featuring “fajita-style peppers and onions,” the new finger-friendly Fajita Street Chalupas and Chicken Fajita Nacho Fries will both be available starting this Thursday, June 18.

“Fajitas have a way of making an impression, and we wanted to bring that same excitement and unmistakable flavor to the menu in a way fans can experience wherever they are,” Luis Restrepo, Taco Bell’s chief marketing officer, says in a news release. “To us, it’s all about centering the savory peppers and onions that make fajitas so iconic and bringing that flavor to formats fans already love, so they get everything they crave without the sizzling spectacle.”

It’s not the first time Taco Bell has experimented with fajita flavor, but this iteration has been driven by fan demand.

“From the Steak Fajita Sandwich in the ‘80s to fajita burritos and regional test menu hits over the years, fans have been craving Taco Bell’s take on Tex-Mex-inspired fajita flavor for decades,” the brand says.

What are Taco Bell’s new Fajita Street Chalupas?

This new item combines fajita flavor with Taco Bell’s popular Street Chalupas to create what the brand calls its “most mouthwatering Street Chalupa remix yet.” The dish layers “tender peppers and seasoned onions with tangy, savory notes of chili, onion and garlic inside indulgent, cheesy Street Chalupa shells.” You get two chalupas per order, with your choice of marinated steak of slow-roasted chicken, complete with “creamy Jalapeño sauce and an onion-cilantro blend.” They're priced at $5.99.

What are Taco Bell’s new Chicken Fajita Nacho Fries?

They’re Taco Bell’s cult-hit Nacho Fries, only also with fajita flavor. They feature “layers [of] savory slow-roasted chicken, fresh peppers and onions,” plus “creamy Jalapeño sauce, sour cream, nacho cheese sauce and a blend of cheeses,” the brand says. The fries are priced at $5.49.

Any other Taco Bell fajita news you should know about?

Actually, yes, the brand is sharing some charming news. The brand is teaming up with Ian Charms to drop a limited-edition fajita-themed charm necklace featuring five custom Taco Bell charms: Street Chalupas, Fire Hot Sauce packets, Mountain Dew Baja Blast cups, Taco Bell purple bells and “fajita-inspired details that celebrate the seasoned peppers and onions at the center of the new menu items.”

Only 300 necklaces will available. The limited-edition necklaces will drop on June 23 at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET) via Tuesday Drops in the Taco Bell app, only to Taco Bell Rewards Members.
