We've Got An Official Date for Amazon Prime Day 2019
And it marks the start of the longest Prime Day in history.
Mark your calendars! Amazon Prime Day 2019 is officially on the way. This year marks the longest Prime Day in Amazon history. For the first time, Prime Day will run a full 48 hours starting at midnight PST on Monday, July 15 and lasting until 11:59 PM PST on Tuesday, July 16. That's 12 more shopping hours than last year's event.
If you've never participated in Prime Day before or need a refresher, here's your guide to making the most of this major sale.
Do I Need To Be a Prime Member?
Perhaps most importantly, you MUST be a Prime member to partake in Amazon Prime Day deals. Prime membership costs $12.99 per month (don't forget to take advantage of the free 30-day trial), and you can cancel at any time. If you're a student, you can become a Prime member for just $6.49 per month after a 6-month trial. Not a member? Sign up here, and do it early so you're ready when July 15 comes.
Where Can I Shop?
This is a global event. Prime Day deals are available to Amazon Prime members in 18 countries around the world this year, so you can still shop Prime Day deals even if you're on vacation. The number one best-seller in America last year was the Instant Pot. (Surprised?)
How Can I Get the Best Deal?
High-ticket items will sell out — fast. Last year, KitchenAid stand mixers sold out in a matter of minutes. If there's something you have your heart set on, add it to your cart the night before and double-check the price in the morning before you check out. And keep an eye out for "Lightning Deals." These are major deals on "top-tier" items, according to Amazon. And they're only available in limited quantities.
Where Can I Get More Information?
Follow our homepage, Facebook and newsletters for the most up-to-date information on Prime Day sales throughout the two days. This is the easiest way for you to find the best deals quickly, so you won't miss out on major savings. In the meantime, check out our lists. We don't curate these items for nothing!
What About Pre-Sales?
Pre-Prime Day sales start now. You can head to Amazon's Prime Day page to shop pre-Prime Day sales on air fryers, vacuums and TVs. (You MUST be a Prime Member to shop these deals.) While we won't know what's on sale for the big event, if last year is any indication of what to expect, let's just say, we're stoked. From Instant Pots to stand mixers, we stocked up on must-have kitchen tools in a big way in 2018. And who could forget the Coravin sale? Here are the sales Food Network editors (and fans!) loved last year and what we're hoping this year has in store.
The Instant Pot was the best-selling product in America on last year's Prime Day. Didn't buy into the hype in 2018? Here's to hoping this year will be another chance to get in on the action at a great price. If you're already a proud owner of an Instant Pot like most of our editors, keep your eyes peeled for deals on these accessories.
Last year's ultimate splurge was the Coravin wine system. Usually clocking in at around $350, the machine was half-off last year, making it a serious steal. If you weren't one of the hundreds of fans who picked up one last year, fingers crossed this year is a second chance at a sale!
