Sour Mix:

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows

Emerald Isle:

1/2 ounce vodka

1/2 ounce rum 

1/2 ounce Irish whiskey 

1/2 ounce blue curacao 

2 ounces orange juice 

1 lime wedge 

Simple Syrup:

1 cup sugar

1 cup water


  1. For the sour mix: Combine the lemon juice and Simple Syrup in a glass and stir together.
  2. For the emerald isle: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the vodka, rum, Irish whiskey, blue curacao, 3/4 ounce of the sour mix and the orange juice. Shake once and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Garnish with the lime wedge.

Simple Syrup:

Yield: About 1 1/2 cups
  1. Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
