Millennials and Gen Zers love condiments. And many of them carry around their favorites to have on hand whenever desired. Velveeta is rising to the generational moment by launching a new portable condiment version of its classic pasteurized cheese product. So if Velveeta is your go-to, now you can get it to-go.
Vel2Go is being billed as “the first on-the-go cheese packet on the market.” The limited-edition single-serving, easily pocketable packets of Velveeta cheese promise to provide greater convenience for those who like to slather, pour or otherwise add creamy, melty cheesiness onto pretty much any food they encounter.
Nachos, fries, burgers and hot dogs, vegetables, noodles — now you can add cheese with ease. It’s a new thing for a 100-year-old brand, but Velveeta’s parent company, Kraft Heinz, sells billions of Heinz ketchup packets each year, so it obviously knows a thing or two about packaged condiments.

Velveeta Brand Manager Stephanie Vance calls Vel2Go “the ultimate wingman that unleashes craveability and big mood food in ways other condiments can’t.”
“Our fans know Velveeta is more than just cheese – it’s a lifestyle of indulgence – a celebration of outrageous pleasure, and a siren’s call for others to go all in on the things they love,” Vance says in a press release.
Vel2Go’s debut follows the launch of jarred, ready-to-eat Velveeta Queso last spring and seems to be part of the brand’s move to welcome new formats and also fun. For evidence of the latter, see Velveeta hair dye, Velveeta truffles and the Velveeta cocktail marketed as “the Veltini,” all introduced within the past few years.
For those eager to grab up some Vel2Go packets, they will be available starting today in a limited run on walmart.com, while supplies last. For $5.91, you’ll get three cartons containing four packets apiece.
