This weekend, don’t miss all-new recipes from your favorite chefs as they celebrate old traditions. First up on Saturday morning is Ree Drummond with comforting meals her family is always asking for, including Tamale Pie and Bean and Bacon Soup. Then, Trisha Yearwood is reminiscing with her sister, Beth, as they make “Barbie-Q” Chicken Sliders and all the fixings to go along with them. After that, The Kitchen co-hosts are celebrating Pi Day with everything from traditional pies to a Sliced Pie Cocktail from Geoffrey Zakarian.
On Sunday morning, Bobby Flay is sharing his coffee-inspired dishes like a big breakfast covered in redeye gravy and a side of Espresso-Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. Then, on Sunday night, Guy Fieri is hosting an all-burger competition on Grocery Games with chefs who claim they make the perfect patties. Next, it’s a new All-Star Academy with guest professors Scott Conant and Geoffrey Zakarian. And finally, there’s a new lineup of diabolical sabotages on Cutthroat Kitchen.
While Ree’s husband, Ladd, gives a lesson on feeding the ranch's cattle, Ree's in the kitchen cooking up three comforting make-ahead meals. She makes Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole, Tex-Mex Tamale Pie with a spicy beef filling, and a big pan of hearty Bean and Bacon Soup.
Trisha and her sister, Beth, make a barbecue, or "Barbie Q," feast while reminiscing about their days playing with Barbies. There are Barbie-Q Chicken Sliders with sweet and spicy Quickles, a quick coleslaw, Smashed Potato Salad and Mini Key Lime Cheesecakes.
The Kitchen is celebrating Pi Day by making sweet and savory pies, including Katie Lee's classic Chicken Pot Pie, Sunny Anderson's Easy Breakfast Cottage Pie, Jeff Mauro's Lollipies and Marcela Valladolid's Lemon Meringue Pie with a twist. Plus, we're helping viewers who sent in their pie fails, showing the latest pie trends and testing pie tools. To top it all off, Geoffrey Zakarian mixes up a deliciously sweet apple-pie shooter!
Two of Bobby’s favorite things come together for a brunch menu that's sure to wake you up! His coffee-inspired creations include Scrambled Eggs with Sweet Potato Biscuits, Ham Steak and Redeye Gravy, Espresso-Chocolate Chip Banana Bread with Espresso-Cinnamon Butter and a blended Spiced Mocha Lassi.
Chefs who claim they make perfect patties compete in an all-burger edition of Triple G! First, they must create an international burger using only the eight items they can purchase in the express lane. Next, chefs plate a classic American burger featuring a weird ingredient. Then, the two finalists must shop quickly as the market closes early and Guy has a final twist waiting for them!
Scott and Geoffrey serve as guest professors for snack time, and they mix things up by having the mentors cook a gourmet dish featuring a popular snack food. The winning mentor gets a big prize: to bring back any cook that has been eliminated and add that cook to their team. After the eliminated cook returns, all five cooks try to avoid elimination as they create a gourmet dish using pretzels.
Three chefs have to make stuffed cabbage while stuffed in a cab. Then, two chefs have to play a "shock-shuka" game for their shakshuka ingredients. Finally, one chef has to make trifle one layer at a time.
