Cold Stone Ice Cream Now Comes in Cereal Form

For those who are too embarrassed to go ahead and eat ice cream for breakfast.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for … cereal? True, that may not sound quite right, but Cold Stone Creamery cereal sounds very right indeed.

Post Consumer Brands – the company behind breakfast cereals like Raisin Bran, Pebbles (both Fruity and Cocoa) and Honey Bunches of Oats – has announced a slate of new cereals it plans to introduce this summer. Among them two co-branded flavors of cereal that combine Malt-O-Meal & Cold Stone Creamery.

"In a dream pairing of cereal and ice cream, these two American heritage brands are coming together to offer the first of its kind ice cream themed cereal," the company trumpeted in a press release.

The cereal will be available in Strawberry Blonde flavor ("honey graham and strawberry flavored cereal with marshmallows") and Birthday Cake Remix flavor ("birthday cake [batter] flavored cereal with chocolate flavored marshmallows").

The cereal – which, curiously, come in a bag, not a box -- will be on store shelves sometime this month, and social media is already super psyched.

An Instagram post by cereal watcher @cerealouslynet has racked up almost 2,000 likes in just a few days and follows another that also proved popular.

Sample comments in response: "omg omg omgggg," "I'm going to be looking for this," "omggggg yesssss" and "might as well give up dieting for life."

Yeah, when your breakfast cereal is all about cake and ice cream and has "creamery" in its name, you can just forget counting calories that day. But who’s complaining?
