Hershey is once again switching things up with regards to one of its most beloved sweet treats — Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups — in honor of National Peanut Butter Lovers Day on March 1.

The food brand announced Monday that it will be rolling out new Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cups for a limited time only starting next month. The PB-centric candy features zero chocolate, and instead boasts a 100% peanut butter candy-flavored shell filled with that same tasty peanut butter from traditional Peanut Butter Cups you know and love.

Food Network editor Maggie Wong got an advance taste of the peanut butter-peanut butter cups and shared, “They taste exactly how you’d expect: the center is the same soft, familiar PB, but instead the filling is enveloped in a smooth, solid peanut butter shell. Naturally, if you’ve had a Reese’s Cup, you won’t be tasting anything new. But you’ll be biting into two different textures of peanut butter.

According to a press release, this is the first time in its more than 90-year history that Reese’s has debuted such an extreme peanut butter treat. Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cups will be rolled out in standard (1.4oz, SRP $1.09), king size (2.8oz, SRP $1.79) and miniatures (9.3oz, SRP $4.09) at retailers nationwide beginning in early April 2021 for a limited time.

And that’s not all! In addition to the release of Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cups, the brand is also bringing back the fan-favorite product Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers Cups for “a double dose of peanut butter-flavored candy excitement.”

Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers Cups, which sport an extra layer of smooth, sweet peanut butter creme on top of the standard chocolate shell, debuted in 2019 and also made a brief return last year.

“While launching a Reese's Cup with absolutely no chocolate might come as a shock, we’re giving the truest peanut butter fans something to go wild about," said Margo McIlvaine, Reese's Brand Manager. "The frenzy that comes with changing an icon like the Reese's Cup is real – but you can still enjoy the classic plus get more peanut butter flavor with a new option that’s every peanut butter lover’s dream!”

As if the arrival of a new product and the return of an old favorite isn’t enough, Reese’s hinted that there’s more to come in the next several weeks. “The Reese's brand has a few more tricks up its sleeve in the upcoming weeks so if you’re a peanut butter lover, be on high alert…,” the press release concluded.

Who’s psyched for even more Reese’s products?
