Eat mor … sauce? Soon that will be easier to do.
Chick-fil-A has just announced that, beginning in November, it will begin selling 16-ounce bottles of its signature Chick-fil-A and Polynesian sauces at major grocery stores in select markets, with plans to roll out availability to supermarkets nationwide in early 2021.
The bottled sauces, which will sell for a starting price $3.49, will be available initially at participating Publix, Kroger, Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi, marking the chicken sandwich chain’s first pivot to retail. The move follows a pilot effort in Florida last spring.
“We’re excited to expand availability of our two most beloved sauces across the country,” L.J. Yankosky, senior director of Innovation and New Ventures at Chick-fil-A, said in a press release.
The company also plans to donate a portion of profits from retail sauce sales to its employee scholarship fund, the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarship Initiative.
“Restaurant Team Members go above and beyond every day to care for our guests and the communities they serve,” Yankosky said. “We’re thrilled that every 16-ounce bottled sauce purchased from a participating retailer will help provide additional scholarship opportunities to Team Members, who are a key ingredient to our restaurant experience.”
Chick-fil-A sauce fans located outside the areas in which the 16-ounce bottles are being offered at supermarkets can purchase 8-ounce bottles of the sauces at participating restaurants nationwide. Chick-fil-A is also offering a limited supply of bottled sauce gift sets, while supplies last, at select restaurant locations. So if there’s someone saucy on your gift list this holiday season, you’re set.
