Wendy’s Has Unveiled Its Full New Breakfast Menu

This time, the chain’s management is pretty sure it’s getting breakfast right.

Dear Wendy’s fans looking forward to breakfast at your fave fast-food joint: The management promises it won’t let you down (again).

At an Investor’s Day meeting for financial analysts on Friday, Wendy’s shared new details about the chain’s recently announced national breakfast menu rollout, set to happen in the first quarter of 2020.

Acknowledging that Wendy’s had “struggled with breakfast in the past,” Kurt Kane, Wendy’s president, U.S. and chief commercial officer, asserted, in a presentation, that this time would be different, not least because the current breakfast plan had been developed in partnership with the chain’s franchisees whereas previous efforts had not. He also promised that the new breakfast rollout would be simpler to implement and feature a menu that “is craveable and appealing to the masses.”

The company also unveiled the full new breakfast menu, some elements of which had been previously announced. It will feature three croissant sandwiches (Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant, Sausage Egg & Swiss Croissant, Bacon Egg & Swiss Croissant); three biscuit sandwiches (Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, Sausage Egg & Cheese Biscuit, Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit); and three “classic” sandwiches (Breakfast Baconator, Classic Sausage Egg & Cheese Sandwich, Classic Bacon Egg & Cheese Sandwich). All are available alone or as part of a combo with Coffee and Seasoned Potatoes.

Other offerings include an Oatmeal Bar; Seasonal Fruit; Sausage Gravy & Biscuit; Sausage, Egg & Cheese Burrito; Honey Butter Biscuit and Sausage Biscuit.

As for beverages, in addition to a full array of sodas, teas, lemonades and juices (including bottled OJ), there’s Hot Coffee (regular or decaf); Cold Brew Iced Coffee (unsweetened) and the highly anticipated, soon-to-be-signature Frosty-ccino, a cold-brew iced coffee you can get in either chocolate or vanilla.

“As opposed to the past, we are going all in on a national roll out for this launch,” Wendy’s CEO Todd Penegor wrote in a blog post. “So, you could actually say that this is the first time we are launching breakfast nationally.”

Sure, you could say it. Mostly, we’re just looking forward to eating it ... and getting our hands on one of those yummy-sounding new Frosty-ccinos.
