Honey Butter Chips

First up, plain kettle chips get amped up with a simple honey-butter glaze — an addictive flavor combination that’s popular in Asian snacks.

You will need:

  • One 8.5-ounce bag kettle chips
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Pour the chips into a large bowl and set aside. Add the butter, honey and brown sugar to a medium skillet over medium heat. Bring to a bubbling simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves. Pour the mixture over the chips, sprinkle with salt and toss to coat evenly. Let cool and enjoy!

Elote-Style Pretzel Bites

These simple, stepped-up pretzel bites are inspired by one of Mexico’s most loved street foods – elote – which is husked and grilled corn that’s slathered with mayonnaise (or crema) and then coated in cotija cheese, chile powder and lime juice. Look for bottled elote seasoning in the spice aisle.

You will need:

  • One 12-ounce box of frozen pretzel bites
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons elote seasoning
  • Pretzel salt package (from inside the frozen pretzel bites box)

Cook the pretzel bites according to the package directions (but without the pretzel salt; you’ll use that later). Transfer the cooked pretzel bites to a large bowl and add the melted butter, elote seasoning and a sprinkle of pretzel salt. Toss the pretzels to coat evenly. Pile onto a serving tray and enjoy!
