Twinkle VanWinkle

Born in a small town in Mississippi, Twinkle grew up surrounded by wonderful Southern cooks, musicians and creative souls. “My ultimate goal is to help folks see they can make their lives shine, too. I write recipes and create food that is considerate of family budgets and full of healthy, delicious and as much as possible, local ingredients. I believe we all have the ability to create good things to eat.” Twinkle has more than 25 years of professional cooking under her apron strings and is currently a chef and a freelance food writer. She has worked with James Beard award-winning chefs and appeared on the Food Network and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Homemade biscuits are her ride-or-die. Twinkle loves working in her backyard garden, playing music, and volunteering. She works closely with Slow Food Indy as board chair and is focused on fighting food insecurity. She’s got a killer record collection, too. Twinkle lives in Indianapolis with her husband Tyler, their three children, playing music, cooking dang good food and making her life shine.
