Well-Deserved Rest and Relaxation

Bobby and Anne surprise the recruits back at the house with a request. Since the two have been "laboring tirelessly" to teach the recruits, they're taking a break. Anne explains: "So, we're gonna wait up here while you guys tackle the most-important meal of the day: breakfast!" The mentors will not be leading the demo, instead Chef Sarabeth Levine will be teaching the recruits.

Perfectly Poached Eggs

The recruits head downstairs for their session with Sarabeth, who teaches them how to make eggs Benedict for their Skill Drill challenge. Danny can't believe how easy she makes poaching eggs look, calling her the "egg Jedi Master." The perfect poached egg will jiggle, Sarabeth points out. Amber exclaims: "Oh, my God. These eggs are twerking."

How Not to Learn from Mistakes

Stephanie gets started on the hollandaise sauce, but she makes a big error: The recipe calls for a tablespoon of water, but she measures with a cup. She wonders: "Why does this look soapy?" She starts over but makes the same mistake a second time. All the while Anne and Bobby are watching the recruits on closed-circuit TV.

Growing in Confidence

Jamie's excited to finally learn how to make eggs Benedict, his favorite breakfast dish. Meanwhile Carie is whipping hollandaise, which Anne sees on TV: "Carie's doing a shake and bake," noting to Bobby that Carie's gained confidence. "I came in not knowing how to do anything," says Carie. Even though Anne finds the dish lacks flavor, she's glad to see Carie growing because it "makes my job worth it," says Anne.

Eggs to Impress

Danny admits his daughters don't think of him as a cool dad, but he thinks he can impress them with this recipe the next time he makes breakfast. He's so proud of himself that he says, "I'm gonna apply to work at Sarabeth's restaurant and make eggs Benedict all day long." Bobby admits that he watched Danny on TV and that he looked so focused — like a "mad scientist." Danny wins the challenge on the Blue Team.

Admitting His Wrongs

Other than his irregular knife cuts, Anne finds Jamie's breakfast dish to be very good. She asks him how he's doing in the competition and Jamie responds: "I feel like I'm learning so much, and I am very thankful that I am on the Red Team." Anne points out that he didn't always feel that way in the beginning. "I wish I could take it all back," he says. Jamie wins the challenge for the Red Team.

Cooking for Her Kids

"Thirty minutes ago I didn't even know what poaching was," Amber says about making eggs Benedict for the first time. She's excited to be cooking breakfast, and she hopes she'll be able to eventually make it for her kids. Bobby finds the eggs slightly overcooked and the flavor of the hollandaise too weak. "I'm very disappointed, but I'm gonna keep on trying," she says.

From Zero to Nearly Hero

Anne immediately notices that Mike's eggs aren't completely cooked through, pointing out he didn't get them cooking quickly enough. Mike admits that was the case. Even with this setback, Anne tells him, "I've seen you make great strides towards improving." Mike reveals to her that he's gained a love for cooking and says, "I have a better quality of life because of this."

Boot Camp Means Business

Anne and Bobby don't waste any time in getting the recruits straight back to Boot Camp right after breakfast to begin their Main Dish challenge. Bobby tells them it's to get them in the habit "of cooking more than once a day." There the recruits find a table covered with a sheet, but something is moving underneath. Danny reveals they're live lobsters.

Committing to It

For this challenge, the recruits will have 90 minutes to cook a surf-and-turf dish of lobster and steak. Anne demonstrates how to first kill the lobster, then steam it. She tells them: "You know, commit to it. Get it in the pot." But Carie doesn't like the idea at all; she says, "I don't even kill bugs."

Goodbye, Lobster

"I am completely freaked out about cooking with lobster," says Amber. "I don't know which parts are his legs. I don't know which parts are his arms." But it doesn't matter, because first things first: She's got to kill it before adding it to the boiling water. "I know I got to attack this lobster like it's an ex-boyfriend," she says. All her trouble pays off in the end and she wins the challenge.

An Emotional Lobster Breakdown

At first Carie struggles to break down the lobster as Anne showed them. Memories of her late grandmother flood her thoughts: "I start thinking about my grandma .... And the thought of her saying, 'Come on, Carie, you can do this.'" Anne stops by and cheers her up: "Finish up strong. You're almost there."

Burning Up in the Kitchen

Danny gets ready to put the sliced steak back in the pan as Bobby showed, but he realizes the oil has burned. "I know the oil in the pan has flavor, but I think a little bit of burnt-ness in it is gonna screw up the flavor for the meat." He starts a fresh pan and hopes he and the steak aren't both well-done. Stephanie is in a similar situation: "If I burn this steak," she says, "I'm definitely going home."

Keen on Concentration

"Today I feel more quiet and focused than I have in the past," says Mike about cooking such a complicated dish with two major components. But Anne thinks his focus is getting him too much in his own head. "I want to see the happiness go into his food," she says. "He needs to loosen up just a little bit."

Overcompensating with Creativity

As she completes her dish, Stephanie decides she's "got to make this plate stand out." So she does something Bobby has warned her about time and time again and uses an inedible garnish — in this case, the lobster head. "Hey, either go big or go home," she says.

Shade of Perfection

After cooking his steak and letting it rest, Jamie hopes it is the perfect medium-rare. "I am praying to God that she is pink inside, because this can make or break me." But it doesn't help that both Anne and Bobby are watching nearby as he slices into it. Thankfully it's pink and he ends up winning the challenge.

Going Farther Than Expected

Danny and Stephanie are in Bobby's bottom two. He tells Stephanie that her attitude has improved since she joined his team, but in this Main Dish challenge there were some miscues. Bobby says, "I wasn't sure whether or not you were listening to me." In the end he sends her home. "Nobody ever thought I would make it here," she says. "I didn't even think I would make it this far."

Two Times the Learning

Anne names Mike and Carie as her bottom two. Anne tells Carie she was glad to have snatched her up from the Blue Team. However, "I think that you're still second-guessing yourself, but I see you starting to act like a cook," says Anne, who decides Carie's time is over. Carie doesn't leave without thanking both her mentors: "I'm gonna bring home everything I've learned from Chef Bobby and Chef Anne."
